CHANGES

Transitions are difficult....

Changes of neighbors, friends, lovers, spouses. Changes in the environment, politics, economy, habits. Flowers die, favorite trees are cut, beautiful buildings crumble, leadership changes, friends and loved ones disappear. Life is constantly changing and challenging us. It can't be stopped.

We can try to block the changes, and they will flood over us, or push us out of the way. We can flow with the changes and observe them with wonder. Changes are often unjust, absurd, illogical, destructive. Changes can be fair, useful, healthy, liberating. All changes have consequences, both good and not so good. How we react to changes is up to us. No matter how oppressed we may be, we do still have some important choices in life.

Who a person is, is not the same as what they do....We can like a person and not like what they do; we can like what they do, but not like them. A true friend is someone we like, and like what they do...most of the time. No one is perfect. Some people are less perfect than others. We are more perfect and less perfect than others.

Tolerance, understanding, and acceptance are the keys to a happier life, but not everything in life can be or should be accepted. So we will always have some unhappiness. Unhappiness makes the happy moments even better.

My blog is for vulnerable communication from my heart, mind, and spirit, meant to touch readers who are passionate about creativity, art, life, and cultures.... Nastiness and personal attack are expressions of bitterness, not meaningful communication. The internet drowns in negativity, but not this site....Thoughtful criticism, however, is not negative, but an affirmation of ideals, hopes, and caring. Positive comments are more useful if they are not meant for my ego, but to share compassion and love....Thanks for reading, feeling, and sharing.
