BEING PRESENT

INTIMACY FATALLY ATTACKED

The strong, but fading responses against interrupting personal real contact with technological virtual contact is comforting, although it is a losing battle.  The war has already been won, and those who support intimacy are already dinosaur zombies.

In defiance of the robotization of culture and communication, some rebels still are able to summon the positive energy and courage to resist massive social and planned-obsolescence pressures to spend, update, and boast.

These mainstream outcasts still read printed hard copy newspapers, magazines, and do paperwork on paper...don't Twitter or post on YouTube...don't collect "hearts," "likes," or "friends"...don't text conversations...don't take or make cell phone calls when together with other human beings.

They allow themselves to feel lonely, even frightened at times, without addictively contacting distant friends, acquaintances, or strangers, although they do reach out to close friends and lovers....

We must touch each other, physically and emotionally, in order to live meaningful lives and create beauty.  The rabid dependence on technological gadgets is directly proportional to the terminal decline of ethical values, independent thought, critical standards, personal freedom, art, vision, reality, passion, fun, and hope.

My blog is for vulnerable communication from my heart, mind, and spirit, meant to touch readers who are passionate about creativity, art, life, and cultures.... Nastiness and personal attack are expressions of bitterness, not meaningful communication. The internet drowns in negativity, but not this site....Thoughtful criticism, however, is not negative, but an affirmation of ideals, hopes, and caring. Positive comments are more useful if they are not meant for my ego, but to share compassion and love....Thanks for reading, feeling, and sharing.
