WHY WAR?

Though I am an educated, cultured, aware man, and even a professor, I am stupid. I honestly do not understand why America is fighting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I am deeply sympathetic to the soldiers, their families, and the civilians on all sides who have died or been wounded, physically and psychologically, but do not know why they had to make such sacrifices.
Yes, there is great evil in the world, and always will be. Terrorists blindly and insanely kill innocents, post-colonialists, Christians and Jews, Muslims and Hindus, and each other. But why is everyone dying? How will all these deaths in any way solve the deeper problems that inspired them? What does America actually have at stake in these wars, and how would things change if we were not there? How has the American bankruptcy and our fatal decline really helped the future of Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, Grenada, Philippines, Africa, Korea, Taiwan, America, and the world? Or will tribal nationalism, dictatorial cult leaders, all-encompassing xenophobia, and endless greed vs. poverty continue exactly as before, with slight changes of costume...minus millions of manipulated dead losers?

My blog is for vulnerable communication from my heart, mind, and spirit, meant to touch readers who are passionate about creativity, art, life, and cultures.... Nastiness and personal attack are expressions of bitterness, not meaningful communication. The internet drowns in negativity, but not this site....Thoughtful criticism, however, is not negative, but an affirmation of ideals, hopes, and caring. Positive comments are more useful if they are not meant for my ego, but to share compassion and love....Thanks for reading, feeling, and sharing.
